Meet the Pastor

Pastor Matt’s Bio

Pastor Matt Price has been with West View UMC since 2019. He was born and raised in West Virginia, where he grew up as a preacher’s kid in the WV Conference of the United Methodist Church. His faith in Jesus has been central to him ever since he was a child, and he has a passion for sharing the love of Jesus with others.

After graduating from Washington and Lee University in 2009 with a B.A. in English and Medieval & Renaissance Studies, he entered Duke Divinity School in North Carolina, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity (2012) degree as well as a Master of Theology (2013), and served as a chaplain at a local urban ministry. Before coming to West View, Pastor Matt also served as the pastor of the churches of the South Hills Partnership of Pittsburgh from 2013-2019.

Pastor Matt is grateful to be married to his high-school sweetheart, Dr. Jessica Price, for 13 years. They have three daughters: seven-year-old Naomi, four-year-old Lila, and baby Lucy (as well as two dogs: Willow and Ladybug!). Jessica is a pediatrician, serving as the Medical Director of the North Side Christian Health Center on the Northside of Pittsburgh. Pastor Matt loves serving God’s church and helping to form disciples in the image of Jesus Christ. By the grace of God, he’s still following God’s leading on this journey of Christian faith and looking forward to seeing where God leads West View UMC!
